Counseling Strategies
Mind
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on challenging and changing thoughts, beliefs and attitudes toward ourselves, others and the world surrounding us. CBT can help change associated behaviors to improve emotional regulation and develop coping strategies in order to live a more empowered life. This has been researched to be an effective modality to many and is available to you in our time together.
Body
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body focused counseling model which allows healing from trauma, stress-related symptoms, and toxic belief systems about yourself. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a transformative psychotherapy technique designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. Either of these modalities combined with breathwork, visualization and body movements are available to you when working together.
Relational
Attachment based therapy is rooted in the various important relationships throughout your life. This along with Internal Family Systems (IFS) is how we may navigate how you are showing up in your current and/or past relationships with others and yourself. These modalities are designed to provide a clear path to repairing broken and/or interrupted bonds.
Creative
Narrative and Art Therapies are options in our work together as they provide access to this work in a more abstract way which can feel inviting and intriguing. These modalities are rooted in the spirit of creativity, empowerment and transformation. It can be helpful in this work to move beyond words, collaborating on the journey towards the illustration, vocalization, empowering self, familial and collective narratives.
